As of today Tiger Airline's will be charging $5 per checked in suitcase, this is in addition to the current charges applied to checked in baggage that exceeds 15kg. The fee will be charged on Tiger's domestic and international flights.

Passengers who booked before 29th May will still get their free 15kg checked bag but everyone who booked after this will be subject to the new charge. For carry on restrictions each passenger will be allowed a carry on bag up to 7kg and either a handbag or laptop bag at no charge.

Tiger's chief operating officer Steve Burns said this "When I take a short break, I always resent having to pay for other people's mountains of baggage. Tiger gives people the option to pay only for what they use rather than subsidising other travellers"
